Important Rules Regarding Hunters In Kansas

Hunting is a sport that is practiced by enthusiasts in all 50 states. Each state does have its own rules and regulations regarding hunting. This is done to protect the safety of the hunters and to ensure the population of the hunted animals is not depleted excessively. For those that are opting to hunt in the state of Kansas, it is necessary to be familiar with a few important rules that promote these outcomes.

It is illegal to hunt from a moving vehicle without a disability permit. Coyotes are an exception to this. Waterfowl may be hunted from a stationary boat.

Hunting with artificial light is illegal unless you are hunting coyotes or furbearers.

It is against the law to sell wild game meat. Furbearer meat is the one exception. Game meat may be given away but the identity of the person giving away the meat must be logged along with a hunting or fishing permit number.

Regulations exist in regards to killed game that has been found as opposed to hunted are in place as well. For example, the antlers of road kill deer may not be removed from the carcass if found.
